Address Magazine

Working with a small team, I art directed the first issue of Address – a new independent annual journal featuring fashion writing and criticism. Address takes an almost academic approach to fashion, and completely rethinks what a fashion magazine can be. The magazine was intentionally designed to look more like a book as opposed to a glossy fashion magazine, in order to reflect the content. There’s been an amazing response to the first issue with write ups in the New York Times and Grafik magazine. You can still buy the first issue here. Issue two is on its way.

Fashion Week Internationale

Show identity and branding for Fashion Week Internationale – a series investigating fashion shows existing outside the usual catwalk realms of New York, London, Paris and Milan. With the original brief to create something really tacky inspired by 90s Baywatch graphics I created a logo, title sequences, a series of single page and double page print ads and DVD packaging.

Rangers & Celtic

Part of the new ‘Rivals’ series documenting sporting rivalries, Celtic & Rangers is a new show about the famous hatred between Glasgow’s “Old Firm” sides. In order to come up with the show’s visual identity I researched into the fanzines from both sides, Rangers’ ‘Follow Follow’ and Celtic’s ‘Not the View’ for inspiration.

55DSL
Spring Summer
2012 Magazine

Produced at Virtue for 55DSL this publication was intended to be more than just a catalogue. It combined various editorial features including interviews with 55DSL’s designers, photographers and the director of a short film made for 55DSL S/S 2012. It was important that the art direction looked very Italian but also appealed to a younger audience. The client were really keen on using Futura, so the challenge was to make this well used typeface appear new and fresh. I experimented with precariously stacked words that reflected the stunning architecture featured in the shoots and paired it with the more a more unusual body copy font.

Dos and Don’ts Book

Together with the editorial team I designed and edited the latest Dos and Don’ts book. The task involved gathering and compiling 400 individual pieces into a singular coherent volume and designing a Waterstones friendly cover that also expresses Vice’s editorial voice.
